Collagen MAX Thermage FLX
Thermage with your collagen cells kept alive.

Who it's for
- Loose skin on the cheeks, jawline and neck
- Fine lines and loss of firmness
- Anyone who has had standard Thermage and wants a more consistent result
How it works
Before the RF energy goes in, we test your skin microbiome and infuse two bottles of AQ MAX (alanyl-glutamine). During the treatment a collagen-peptide serum reduces the sting and feeds new collagen.
- 01
Skin microbiome test
A sample from your skin is analysed for function (oil and moisture levels) and quality (microbial diversity, barrier health, vulnerability to inflammation). Repeat the test when you return for Thermage a year later and you can see how fast your skin is ageing.
- 02
AQ MAX infusion — two bottles
Alanyl-glutamine is infused before treatment so collagen-producing fibroblasts survive the 50 °C heat of the RF pulses. Glutamine also directly activates collagen synthesis, and the same solution is used in university hospitals for post-surgical skin recovery.
- 03
Collagen booster serum during Thermage
Applied as the FLX handpiece works, the serum adjusts the skin's electrical conductivity to reduce the sting, while its collagen peptides penetrate to push collagen synthesis further.
| Standard Thermage | Collagen MAX | |
|---|---|---|
| Collagen cells during heating | Fibroblasts die and recover only partially | Protected by AQ MAX; collagen synthesis maintained |
| Change in skin age | Varies from person to person | Consistent rejuvenation across patients (Wells protocol) |
| Diagnosis | None | Microbiome test before, and again at one year |
What the lab data shows
In cell tests, fibroblasts treated with AQ (40 mM) resisted death under 43 °C and 55 °C heat for five minutes, and Western blot analysis showed collagen synthesis held up after one hour at 43 °C — with the protective effect increasing with AQ concentration (0, 20, 40 mM).
In lab tests, AQ (40 mM) protected fibroblasts and kept collagen synthesis up under 43–55 °C heat — the temperature range Thermage reaches.
Questions about this treatment
Do I need to fast or be sedated?
No. Wells does not use sleep sedation for Thermage. Non-sedation Air NOX with local anesthetic keeps you awake, no fasting is needed, and you can drive afterwards.
Is 600 or 900 shots right for me?
The dermatologist decides at consultation based on the area to be treated. Both options use genuine Thermage FLX tips, guaranteed at ten times the price if ever found not genuine.
Individual results vary. Side effects are possible — every treatment starts with a dermatologist consultation.
